This is a repaint of Frans Vranken's AS-350 "A-Star" in the painted livery of Air Evac Services, Inc. based in Phoenix, Arizona. Repainted by Brian Wilson.

----------
Background
----------

Air Evac is one of the fastest-growing air medical transport providers in the country. The 33-year old company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroleum Helicopters Incorporated (PHI).

Air Evac's rotor-wing fleet consists of six AEC 350 "A-Star" helicopters. Each of these helicopters are configured with the latest medical equipment and staffed with a flight nurse, flight paramedic (or respiratory therapist), and an experienced helicopter pilot. All rotor-wing aircraft are ready to respond within seven minutes.

Repaint Notes
-------------

This is my ninth Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 model repaint, and it is my third repaint of Frans Vranken's AS-350 Squirrel/A-Star helicopter.

My first eight projects were:
(1) the Arizona DPS Air Rescue Bell-206L;
(2) the Petroleum Helicopters Incorporated (PHI) Bell-206L;
(3) the Air Method's AIR LIFE Bell-206L;
(4) the KSAZ "SKYFOX 10" AS-350;
(5) the "Sea Horse Bay Tours" Bell-206L;
(6) the KTVK "TV3" AS-350;
(7) the KNXV "Chopper 15" Bell-206L;and
(8) the Native Air Bell-206L.

All of these models are currently available on www.simaviation.com in the MSFS 2002 Helicopters download section.

I must say that I sure do appreciate receiving all of the positive feedback comments from those who have taken the time to email me after downloading and using one of my repaint helicopters. This has become an enjoyable hobby of mine, and it is very rewarding to see a new idea come to life and to see others enjoy my work.

Most of my repaints come from trying to replicate helicopters actually operating in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area. This particular repaint is no different. Air Evac is another medical transport icon in the desert southwest. Air Evac helicopters can be seen daily landing on various EMS scenes including: car accidents, pool drownings, building fires, and construction site accidents.

I would like to thank Frans Vranken, the original AS-350 creator, for designing and posting such a professionally completed flight sim aircraft for all of us to enjoy; and more specifically, I want to thank him for allowing me to repaint this aircraft numerous times and to share it with the sim-aviation public. Also, a special thanks should go out to Jean-Pierre Langer and Arne Barthels for their contribution to this sim model.

Please feel free to send any comments or suggestions to me, Brian Wilson, at my email address: ineedputerhelp@aol.com
